Informatics for Disadvantaged Children

Kazun Association successfully implemented the “Informatics for Disadvantaged Children” project supported by the Bethlen Gábor Alap from Hungary. The program took place from October 8th to 9th, 2011 in the locality. Twenty students were involved in the program from 5th to 8th grade, who don’t possess PC and internet in their families.

 The goal of the project was to support the social inclusion of the student in difficulties, to reduce their social disadvantage, to promote the equality of chances as well as to increase the digital literacy.

 During the program students learned the basics of using the computer, the Windows operation system, virtual building software (Lego Digital Designer, Mindstrom NXT), learning programs (My Math, Seterra), possibilities in the Internet (e-mail, World Wide Web), searching, using learning programs (http://www.gyakorolj.hu/oktatas) and the protection of children on the Internet.

 The course was taught by Csomós Róbert, the informatics teacher in the Márton Áron high school, Csíkszereda.
