The Kazun Association was established in 2002 as a non-for profit, apolitical and independent association from the initiative of a bunch of young people from Plăieşii de Jos with the aim to provide non-formal education through culture.  

The aim of the association is to:

•    Promote cultural and social activities in the community

•    Keep and disseminate the Szekler/Hungarian cultural values and folk art traditions

•    Support and promote the inter-ethnic relations

•    Support charitable and welfare activities

•    Establish and develop national and international contacts and intercultural exchanges

The association proposed the following objectives to achieve its goals:

•    Initiating and implementing activities to support cultural and artistic values

•    Organizing folk performances on a reciprocal basis

•    Organizing theatrical performances in Hungarian language

•    Organizing events, exhibitions, summer camps, cultural exchange programs, in order to learn our own, and other nations’ traditions

•    Organizing seminars, debates, trainings in order to develop the knowledge of local youth, and to involve them in the public and cultural life of the community

•    Fundraising in order to preserve and promote the Szekler/Hungarian values and culture

The current Board Members are:
